Education is the key...no matter where you live. For an Ethiopian child, the stakes are even higher. Without an education, an orphaned or vulnerable Ethiopian child is destined to a life of begging, prostitution or even worse. Ethio-American Family Services is determined to change that trajectory for the children involved in the Read and Feed Program of the Miskaye Children's Welfare Association.
Read and Feed is a before and after school and Saturday program for children in one of the poorest areas of Ethiopia's capital city. Participants receive tutoring, homework help and supplies they need to attend the local school. They also take part in enrichment and leisure activities. All Read and Feed participants receive nutritious meals and snacks to help keep them fueled and ready to learn. They also have the chance to take a bath at the center. This is a luxury for many of the children.
The Read and Feed Program will help these children to break the cycle of poverty and make a meaningful and valuable contribution to their country and the world.

There are two ways you can help the Read and Feed Program.
- Become a Monthly Program Sponsor to help suppor the general costs of Read and Feed and all of EAFS' in country projects
- Sponsor a child. Sponsor one of the children who attend the Read and Feed Program through a monthly gift.
